Description

Resistance Measurement ll PROMET SE+

PROMET SE+ – Portable 200 A Micro-Ohmmeter

The PROMET SE+ is a compact, battery-powered 200 A micro-ohmmeter designed for accurate low-resistance measurements in the micro-ohm range. Its portable design makes it particularly suitable for service, maintenance, and testing teams working with switchgear, substations, and industrial power systems.

The instrument is designed to evaluate contact and connection resistance reliably and can be used independently or integrated with ACTAS switchgear testing systems. When connected to ACTAS, the PROMET SE+ supports both static and dynamic contact resistance measurements, providing detailed information about the condition and performance of switchgear contacts.

4-Wire Resistance Measurement for High Accuracy

Accurate measurement is essential when working with very low resistance values. The PROMET SE+ uses a 4-wire resistance measurement technique, also known as the Kelvin method. This approach separates the test-current circuit from the voltage-measurement circuit, significantly reducing the influence of lead and contact resistance.

As a result, very low resistance values can be measured with high reliability. The technique is particularly useful for checking circuit breaker contacts, busbar connections, bolted and screwed joints, welded and soldered connections, grounding systems, and equipotential bonding points.

The resulting measurements provide reliable data for assessing, documenting, and monitoring the condition of electrical connection points.

Applications

The PROMET SE+ can be used for a wide range of resistance testing applications in power utilities, industrial facilities, manufacturing, and maintenance operations.

Typical applications include:

  1. Contact resistance measurement on circuit breakers
  2. Testing of busbar connections
  3. Resistance measurement on disconnectors and high-current connections
  4. Quality testing of screw and bolted connections
  5. Testing grounding and equipotential bonding connections
  6. Mobile testing and maintenance in switchgear and substations
  7. Static and dynamic resistance measurements with ACTAS systems
  8. Quality testing in manufacturing facilities, maintenance operations, and testing laboratories

The PROMET SE+ is suitable for power utilities, switchgear operators and manufacturers, high-voltage service companies, testing engineers, process engineers, and maintenance teams.

Parallel Resistance Measurement and ACTAS Integration

With two current outputs and two voltage measurement inputs, the PROMET SE+ can perform resistance measurements at two test points simultaneously. This reduces the need to repeatedly reconnect individual measurement points, saving time and improving the consistency and comparability of test results.

The instrument can be operated as a standalone micro-ohmmeter or integrated into ACTAS switchgear testing systems. When combined with ACTAS, it can perform both static resistance measurements and dynamic measurements during switching operations.

Dynamic measurements provide additional information about contact behavior that may not be visible during a conventional static test. This enables detailed evaluation of main contacts, contact resistance, and switching performance.
