PROMET R300 / R600 – High-Accuracy Micro-Ohm Meters up to 600 A

The PROMET R300 and R600 are high-precision micro-ohm meters designed for accurate resistance measurements on low-resistance and high-current applications. With adjustable test currents of up to 600 A, both instruments provide stable measurement performance independent of the supply voltage.

Using advanced four-wire resistance measurement technology, the PROMET R300 / R600 can accurately determine resistance values in the micro-ohm range. Their robust construction, modern power electronics, and flexible operating concept make them suitable for both stationary and portable use in substations, switching stations, industrial facilities, and testing environments.

The instruments can also be connected to ACTAS switchgear testing systems and controlled externally for integration into automated test stands.

Contact System Condition Assessment

Regular contact resistance measurements provide valuable information about the condition of electrical contact systems. The PROMET R300 / R600 can identify increased transfer resistance caused by loose, damaged, or deteriorated connections.

Early detection of abnormal resistance values helps maintenance teams identify potential problems before they lead to equipment failure, reducing unexpected downtime and improving operational reliability.

Adjustable Test Currents up to 600 A

The PROMET R300 / R600 use advanced power electronics to generate a freely adjustable test current of up to 600 A. The test current remains independent of the supply voltage, providing stable measurement conditions.

Resistance is calculated by measuring the voltage drop using the four-wire measurement method. High-precision current and voltage measurement inputs allow very low resistance values in the μΩ range to be measured accurately.

The instruments can provide continuous test currents for extended periods, allowing them to also be used as high-current sources for suitable applications.

Resistance Measurement at Three Points

With three independent voltage measurement inputs, the PROMET R300 / R600 can perform parallel measurements at three test points. This allows the static resistance of three main contacts to be measured simultaneously or enables comparative evaluation of multiple electrical connections.

Contact Resistance Measurement with Earthing on Both Sides

The PROMET R300 / R600 can accurately determine main contact resistance even when the switchgear is earthed on both sides. Earth current is measured using a current clamp and automatically considered during resistance calculation.

This capability avoids the need to disconnect earth conductors during testing, simplifying the measurement procedure while maintaining a high level of operational safety.

Temperature-Compensated Resistance Measurement

The PROMET R300 / R600 support temperature-compensated resistance measurements. A temperature sensor measures the temperature at the test point, and the measured resistance is converted using a reference temperature of 20°C.

This allows measurement results taken under different temperature conditions to be compared more effectively. The device includes a database containing the parameters required for temperature compensation, which can be expanded when necessary.

Connection Quality Assessment

Three voltage measurement inputs allow quick evaluation of connection quality, including bolted and screwed busbar connections.

A quality factor can be used to assess the connection by comparing its resistance over a defined overlap length with the resistance of the busbar over the same length. This provides a practical method for identifying connection quality and potential problems.

ACTAS Integration for Circuit Breaker Testing

The PROMET R300 / R600 include interfaces for integration with ACTAS switchgear testing systems. Through ACTAS testing software, resistance measurements can be incorporated directly into circuit breaker testing procedures.

This integration enables automated testing, centralized result evaluation, and comprehensive documentation. Measured resistance values can be used during test evaluation and automatically included in the final test report.

Dynamic Resistance Measurement of Main Contacts

When integrated with ACTAS, the PROMET R300 / R600 can perform dynamic contact resistance measurements across three poles and multiple main contact chambers per pole simultaneously.

This allows the contacts of a switchgear device to be tested in a single operation, eliminating repeated connection and disconnection of measurement leads. Testing under identical conditions also makes it easier to compare contact resistance values and identify differences between individual poles or contacts.

External Control for Automated Test Stands

For specialized testing applications, the PROMET R300 / R600 provide a programming interface for external control. This makes the instruments suitable for integration into automated test stands and customized testing systems.

The interface can be used in environments supporting COM / ActiveX as well as .NET applications.

Simple and Intuitive Operation

The instruments feature a 5-inch resistive touchscreen combined with function keys for straightforward operation. Test parameters and measurement results are clearly displayed, while acoustic signals provide additional feedback during configuration and testing.

Data Management and Test Reports

The PROMET R300 / R600 can be connected directly to a PC for convenient data management. Dedicated software allows users to download, organize, and review stored measurement results.

Test data can be presented in a structured format, exported to Excel, or used to generate detailed test reports, making it easier to document measurements and maintain complete testing records.
