Digital 5KV High Voltage Insulation Tester BM5500 Applications

Electrical insulating materials degrade over time, resulting in failures and expensive repair costs. Insulation resistance testers apply a controlled DC voltage across the insulation and measure the current flow through it, utilizing Ohm’s law to determine insulation resistance. The 5KV Megger BM5500 tester includes:

Product testing and qualification

Installation of equipment

Routine maintenance

Problem resolution

Insulation testing with high voltage DC influences insulation polarization, meaning that consecutive tests without fully discharging the unit under examination will produce varying results in the Megger 5000v Insulation Tester. It is essential to consistently use the same method and technique for connecting to and testing an insulator to accurately trend results in Digital 5KV High Voltage Insulation Testers. Portable insulation resistance testers and megohmmeters are specifically designed to mitigate risks such as electric shock and short circuits, which can occur when the insulation in electrical devices, components, and equipment used in industrial facilities, buildings, and other environments deteriorates over extended periods of use.
