Power Sources ll EPOS 360
EPOS 360 – Multifunctional Three-Phase Signal Generator
The EPOS 360 is a multifunctional three-phase signal generator designed for applications that require high output power, precise signal generation, and excellent signal accuracy. Its intelligent amplifier technology and fully digital signal generation allow users to create a wide variety of signal shapes across a broad frequency range, including complex transient waveforms.
The system can be operated as a standalone instrument or controlled through an external PC, making it suitable for laboratories, test benches, calibration facilities, and demanding field applications.
Electronic Power Source
High-precision voltage and current sources are increasingly important in electrical testing and measurement applications. The EPOS 360 provides highly accurate signals with very low distortion, adjustable waveforms, and high output power.
It can be used for testing, configuring, and calibrating power measurement instruments, power-quality analyzers, disturbance recorders, energy meters, and other electrical measuring equipment.
COMTRADE Playback and Custom Signal Generation
The supplied TRANSIG-Monitor software enables graphical visualization and playback of recorded signal characteristics in standard COMTRADE format. During testing, these recorded waveforms can be reproduced by the EPOS 360 as transient signals.
The integrated signal editor also allows users to create and calculate customized signal waveforms. Signals can be generated from basic functions such as sine waves and combined with additional components including DC offsets, exponential functions, harmonics, and other waveform elements.
Programming Interface
For specialized applications, including automated test benches, the EPOS 360 provides a convenient programming interface. It can be integrated into systems and software environments supporting COM/ActiveX and .NET technologies.
Integrated Operator Interface
The EPOS 360 features an integrated operator interface with a high-resolution 5-inch touchscreen and smart-touch technology. This allows many signal-generation tasks to be performed directly from the instrument without connecting an external PC.
The clearly organized interface provides intuitive access to the available functions. An ergonomic jog wheel allows parameters such as amplitude, phase angle, and frequency to be adjusted in real time.
An illuminated ring around the jog wheel provides visual feedback about the current system status. In addition, LEDs on the control panel indicate the operating states of the inputs and outputs, allowing users to quickly identify active channels and binary input/output conditions.
Flexible Housing Options
The EPOS 360 is supplied as standard in a 19-inch rack-mount housing, making it suitable for integration into test benches and laboratory systems.
An optional portable housing is also available for applications requiring greater mobility, including field testing and demanding outdoor environments.
System Concept
The EPOS 360 incorporates four independent voltage signal sources and three independent current signal sources. Signal waveforms are calculated by a high-performance signal processor and generated through high-accuracy D/A converters and electronic power amplifiers.
Amplitude, phase angle, and frequency can be adjusted independently over a wide range. The outputs are designed with overload and short-circuit protection to provide reliable operation during demanding testing procedures.
